Cats on Tuesday ~ Love My Mum

Tuesday, 6th May 2008 By Jane

This photo was taken when I was 9mths pregnant with Wren, doing cross~stitch and being laid upon by my much~adored cat Tiki.

It’s not a very clear picture, but it’s important.

Tiki had developed feline diabetes about a year earlier, and not long after Wren was born she passed away.

I adopted Tiki when I was 19 and very ill. She was the best company I could have had, and she loved that I spent so much time cuddling in bed with her. CFS does that to a body.

It’s been over seven years, and I still miss her every day. Particularly now that I’m in the middle of a relapse and no longer have her to nap with.

But I can still feel her with me.

Tiki was really something special.

  11. Jane Said,

Wow, such lovely responses! Thank you for all the long~distance purrs sent this way…

@Cassie & Deana ~ Some ‘pets’ are just unforgettable, aren’t they? I’ve lived with other cats, but Tiki was just… something else.

@ Deana, Karen & Leeuna ~ CFS is something that comes and goes, but never disappears entirely. So I’m hoping that the Winter ‘bugs’ are gentle with me, and that in Spring can be more energetic and healthy.

  14. Mom Unplugged Said,

I am so sorry about Tiki, and about the return of your illness. That is a wonderful photo though. You can see how much she wants to be on what little is left of your lap!

Sorry I am so late stopping by for COT. It’s been a busy week. Hope you are feeling better soon!

  15. Jane Said,

Believe it or not, there was even less of my lap when I was pregnant with Mr Bump.

    I was H.U.G.E.

  16. Trish Said,

I meant to say sorry about Tiki too - I didn’t get back till now .
I hope you have had a better week
I lost my cat Chloe - we had her for 12yrs but she got run over in very tragic circumstances in our driveway by our car … by a friend a few days before Christmas.
My new Kitteh is very sweet and cheeky.

  17. Jane Said,

Hi again Trish :) Things have been better this week. I’m not so weepy now, nor so sleepy, so I can spend more time blogging, er, catching up with the housework, I mean.

Sorry to hear about your Chloe. That’s an awful thing to happen anytime, let alone just before Christmas.

So tell me, what do you really think?
