Or, My Grandma Has a Mean Right Uppercut.
That’s right, Grandma gave Wren a tap under the chin and knocked out the tooth that has been wobbling for six months. Go Grandma.
Not only that, but the tooth tap cut Wren’s gum slightly and the blood ran all down her white school shirt. That was what scared her and had her crying hysterically.
It didn’t bleed much or for very long, and the bloodstained shirt was quickly whipped off and into a bucket of cold water to soak. It looked a whole lot worse than it really was…
Of course, blood always looks so dramatic on a white background, don’t you think?
It made me think though, and I now realise that this is why the walls with bloody handprints on tv are always white.
It’s also why tv murder victims always decide to wear white tshirts on the day they’re going to have their throats slit. Much more photogenic.
But I didn’t whip the camera out this time.
We were too busy washing the floor with bleach like they do on CSI.

Hey Jane
Good to see you back online and ready to post! Poor Wren. But what a novel way of removing a tooth - seems better than tying a thread to a tooth and a door knob and slamming the door shut. Although, perhaps the door method had the advantage of deafening everyone before the crying starts

Lin Mei! Thanks for calling by.
Wren did get a bit of a fright, and now to top it off I think I’ve lost the rotten tooth!
I was holding it in my hand last night and can’t for the life of me remember what I did with it…
Cute girl! My children run from me when they have a loose tooth. I tell them “Come here, I can take care of that!” Or, I advise them to bite into an apple. Nope, they wait until it is just hanging by a thread! I’m always afraid they will swallow it in their sleep……

Thanks for visiting my blog.
Glad you did - I love your blog.
About scary blood - read recently on someone’s blog that you should keep some dark coloured face cloths for kids injuries - blood does not show on the clothes so kids less likely to freak out!

WTG brushing up on CSI clean up skills! Congrats on invoking the visit from the tooth fairy. Any drippy blood should quadruple the rewards–at least that’s how I see it!
Judylynn, I tried the biting the apple thing, but she was too smart for it.
She takes after her mother for brains, of course.
Thanks for the suggestion of dark face washers, JanMary.
We do have some and I’ll make sure I have one handy next time we knock out one of the kids’ teeth.
Susie, don’t you have anything better to do than frequent low dives like this one?
And I have a post coming up about the tooth fairy, so stay tuned…
LOL - I wonder if my kids will let me try this method. Now I’ll never watch those movies/shows without looking for white shirts and white walls. hehehe
