Wren created this craft piece after a trip to Sydney Aquarium with her Granma, early last year.
Afterwards, at Granma’s house, she visualised her creation, requested materials from her assistant (Granma) and set to work on the realisation of this ambitious plan of hers.
Not bad for a 6 year old, hey?
You will need:
- Clear plastic bottle
- Blue tissue paper
- Cut-out pictures/drawings of fish, shells, crabs, etc
- Clear straws
- Sticky tape
What to do:
- Tear or cut your tissue paper into long wavy strips and use sticky tape or glue cover the back of the inside of your bottle with it.
- Cut the clear straws to different lengths and stick a fish picture onto the side of one end of each. Put some blutak on the other end of each straw and stick them onto the bottom inside the bottle so that they stand upright.
- Arrange pictures of crabs and shells around the bottom.
- Decorate the outside too, if you wish.
Other Thoughts:
- Fish can be hung from the lid with fishing line and blutak instead.
- Use different colours of tissue paper for seaweed and coral.
- You can use real shells, if you have some.
Thanks goes to Wren for this project!
